A4) and on a white background, clean and sharp, not folded. Images/photographs that have already been commercially printed are not always usable and may not reproduce well as they have already been screened into dots. The reproduced version may show a moiré pattern. Scanning from books or albums will incur additional charges.
Faxed logos and graphics are NOT acceptable to use. If you would like us to match a particular typeface and have a sample, then you can email that to us.

6. Supplying your own artwork
Clients who supply their own artwork are fully responsible for the end result of printing. Graphic Traffic will only check that files are press ready and do not check for content including design, spelling, grammar and numbers.
Clients are reminded to submit print-ready artwork with the correct specifications as per our print specifications. Our design department takes great care in pre-flighting all client supplied files. We do our very best to inform all our clients of any printing problems that may occur. In saying that, we cannot be held responsible for artwork not correctly prepared for commercial printing. As a general rule, we recommend that all artwork be prepared by qualified graphic designers experienced in the print industry.
No reprints at our expense or refunds for monies paid will be undertaken.
Here are some guidelines should you wish to supply your own artwork.
By artwork, we mean, a digital file from which we can produce printing. As our pre-press is all digital (“Computer To Plate”), i.e. no film or hard artwork copy, we accept digital artwork files only.
Artwork does not mean previously printed copies of business cards, letterheads or other stationery.
BLACK TYPE SHOULD BE 100% BLACK. DO NOT MAKE BLACK INK UP AS A MIX OF RGB OR CMYK COLOURS. UNEXPECTED RESULTS WILL ALWAYS HAPPEN.
IMAGE FILE FORMATS ACCEPTED
We accept the most popular formats including ...
.tif .jpg (high resolution only) .pdf .psd .bmp
Email us if you need more information on this.
WE DO NOT ACCEPT
Images used on websites (72dpi/96dpi .gif .jpg .png). These are low resolution and not suitable for print (suitable for monitor viewing only). NOTE: Images taken from Facebook are low-resolution and not suitable for printing.
Image Quality
For photographic images, the resolution should be MINIMUM 300ppi and again be at least the same size as you wish it to be reproduced. If the image needs to be enlarged, increase the scanning resolution accordingly (e.g. 200% of original, double the resolution).
OTHER FILES: FOR TEXT USE ONLY
Microsoft Word 2007 (.docx or .doc)
Word files on your computer will not necessarily look the same on ours, and will print differently according to computer and printer.
Word is essentially a program for word processing, and does not have the graphic control of programs such as InDesign, Quark, and Illustrator. To avoid problems, therefore ... best used for text only.
Please specify in writing the fonts you have used in your document and supply them to us.
Define the page as much as possible, i.e. define your margins in page setup (File - Page Setup) and use boxes for pictures and graphics to show their size and placement. Specify hard page breaks. Use tabs instead of spaces when aligning type/figures.
We will only accept press ready artwork correctly prepared for commercial printing. It must be supplied as 1 up and at finished size, including trim and bleed marks.
We do not print from Word Files and do not offer printing only services.
7. Transparencies in Artwork
In accordance with Adobe recommendations, all artwork must be supplied with all transparencies flattened. Under no circumstances will Graphic Traffic be responsible for printing problems caused by transparencies not being flattened in supplied artwork.
8. Fonts MUST be embedded or created as outlines in all documents, otherwise fonts may appear to display correctly on your screen but may not print correctly. We take no responsibility for artwork supplied where fonts are not embedded.
9. Proofs
PDF proofs will be supplied for design jobs. Printing will only be performed when the proof is approved by the client for printing or a waiver has been signed.
When accepting proofs from Graphic Traffic, you are held fully responsible for checking all content including design, spelling, grammar and numbers. It is the client’s responsibility to request another copy if your proof is difficult to read. Graphic Traffic will print exactly what is accepted in the final proof.
No reprints at our expense or refunds for monies paid will be undertaken.
10. Alterations to style, etc: Authors corrections. (see also clause 21)
If, before the Quote is prepared, the client does not give Graphic Traffic specific instructions in relation to style, type or layout:
Graphic Traffic may use any style, type and layout which, in Graphic Traffic’s opinion, is appropriate; and Graphic Traffic may charge an additional amount for any additional work required to be done (including the production of additional proofs) as a result of the client subsequently altering the style, type or layout used by Graphic Traffic.
Author’s corrections are deemed as changes to original layout and copy after a proof has been submitted and may be subject to extra charges. Please check these changes carefully on the new proof.
11. Colour Variations
Variations in colour can be a result of the printing process. Clients should read and follow our print guide prior to submitting art. Our printed products may have colour variations from what is viewed on screen, to what the final product looks like, variations between the front and back of the card, and previous orders can also be expected. This is the nature of printing.
No reprints at our expense or refunds for monies paid will be undertaken.
12. Folding
Paper being made of fibre can naturally crack the printed ink on the fold line of a print job. This is unavoidable. If this is an issue for you we recommend avoiding heavy ink coverage in your design where the folding is to occur. There can be a folding and skew variance of plus or minus 2-3mm due to automated folding systems, please allow for this when setting up artwork. For folded items 200gsm or heavier, these items may be scored at the fold lines (at an additional charge) and delivered flat and not folded.
13. Laminating / Celloglaze
If a print job is to have laminating / celloglaze on one side, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the side to be laminated is the FIRST page in the supplied 2 page artwork. One sided laminating will occur ONLY on the first page of your artwork as indicated in the approved proof. For One side laminating, it is common for the card or paper to have a slight curl.
14. Turnaround Times
Printing turnaround will vary based on demand and deadline. Graphic Traffic make best endeavours to meet all deadlines from the time receiving approval to print (acceptance of a proof), to the time when you receive your order. Graphic Traffic will not be held responsible for delays or missed deadlines or any loss or damages after the product has been delivered. It is the client’s responsibility to allow plenty of time for preparing artwork, printing and delivery.
15. Delivery
Graphic Traffic will not be held liable for printing products that are lost, damaged or delayed when delivered by post or courier. All items being delivered to a residential address will be left at the door in the event of no one being home. We cannot deliver to post office boxes. We may from time to time indicate estimated delivery times, but we cannot guarantee delivery times or be held responsible for delays caused by manufacturing or delivery. Please be aware that different items may be printed from different sources.
It is most likely that if multiple items are ordered, they will be delivered direct to your business address separately. We cannot guarantee all items will be delivered at the one time. Do not place an order if exact delivery times are crucial to you, without obtaining verification and confirmation from us of your delivery requirements.
